Im wondering what the name of a dating sim game was called. The game started of when ur told you have i think 100 ( maybe more not sure) days to take out a girl get her to date you and fall in love. THe end of the game if u did good, you get some pictures…… It was set in a school and you could ask the girls there, you could train strength at the gym and compete in swimming races. Why are there no Asian Chefs on the Food network channel?

I know there’s Morimoto on Iron Chef America but I’m talking about a show where the host is Asian like Ming Tsai’s old show “East Meets West”, I miss that show so much. There are plenty of Caucasian chefs, where’s my Asian chefs? Do you think they are racist? Think about it? They have Bobby Flay cooking mexican food, Where are the Mexican chef? They have white guys cooking Asian food (and they aren’t even doing them right). I saw an episode of Emeril (trying) cooking asian dishes (horrible), it didn’t even look appetizing. I know he’s a World class chef but stick with the Italian stuff, okay? Ming Tsai show had good ratings too so I don’t understand. Yan can cook, you need to come back too!!! Chinese girl name- Zhu or Jun?

I’m trying to find a suitable Chinese female name for a character in one of my scripts. (for a movie that I hope to direct someday) I have settled on either Jun or Zhu. I looked these names up on “baby names” websites. According to one, “Jun” means truth. According to another website, “Zhu” means “bamboo.” Yet another website says that “Zhu” means “pearl.” (Me personally, I’m leaning on ‘Zhu’ for ‘bamboo’)
So I’m a little confused here. Could anyone clarify all the possible meanings of Zhu and Jun and if possible, include the Chinese character with each? And feel free to tell me which you think (Jun or Zhu) would sound best to Chinese AND Americans. Thanks.
(Yes, Mandarian names, if that makes any difference. Unless, by any chance, you know what Jun/Zhu means in the Xiang dialect, because this character is Hunanese.)
Yes, I’m aware of the tone system and yep, I know about the problems it can present! And, if you look at my previous questions, you see me complaining about why we can’t just spell Asian words the way they sound.
ichliebeklira: while I find it just a bit odd that a grown man collects and personally names teddy bears, the extra information is helpful, and yes, I have taken the nature of the character into consideration. (And don’t worry, she isn’t based on anyone in particular at all) I think “Jun” sounds better, but I perfer “Zhu” because of the meaning “bamboo,” which seemed to fit her more aptly.

I saw a boy named Fei but when I search on google for the meaning it only has a meaning as for a Chinese girl name.
When I search Lin there really is no clear answer. One site said it was of Chinese and English origin. But it did not give a straight meaning.
Lee I googled and it said pasture or meadow. But is that all?

Anyway I know it varies from culture to culture I suppose. I don’t care what other meanings are to the names, I just want to know! Especially any meaning to the first two since I never got a clear one. And if they are unisex or apply to only one gender. Thanks!

I might be going on an exchange trip to japan in 1 year. I would like to be called by a different name then my english name. Do you think the students and teachers would accomadate that request? I am chinese and my chinese name means “snow” or “loves snow”. I am wondering if there are any names that have to do with “snow” or “winter”. I know the name “yuuki” means snow, but I am wondering if there are any other names that are more unique since the name yuuki is quite common. If you could give me a list with the meanings, that would be great.

Can someone help me find a good Japanese to English dictionary?

I want to learn Japanese because of Dragonball/Z/GT and other stuff. I know a lot of words now because of a couple dictionaries and learning materials. But I want a better dictionary. English to romaji (spelling with out letters like this), English to Hiragana or to Katakana or these to English. I have the kana pages printed up to learn, I just need to translate. Dictionary.com is fine but it uses english to Kanji (japanese symbols) or that to english, which is not much use yet.
Books are awesome and I will write them down for later. If you can tell me something I can download “free” in .pdf format or whatever, or a dictionary program that would be good and better. I can buy using paypal.

A lot of the dating tips apply to guys looking to get laid, but doesnt work for the good girls. One thing that works is agreeing with her when she says “just because I’m coming up doesnt mean your getting lucky”. I usually say “of course. I’m not interested in that stuff with you”. It kind of becomes a mini-insult because the girls take it that you dont find them attractive but at the same time respect your honesty and moral fortitude.
