I just curious lately when I go anywhere like japan, greece or spain. they tend to like give their children’s the native names which they are sounded caucasian or different than their several native names.

For example, in mexican dramas tend to have the main characters with the names that sounded “western european” but still having the character of their tradition. such as, barbara, Diana, Elizabeth or Patricia. they are sounded “western europe” but they are the long enough to be verify spaniard names? so someone suggest me to try the specifit “native northern european name” for my niece. which those name are short, sounded different than the latino names that always very megnificent and long. the example of northern european names are “Una, Ima, Wala etc.” then again when I visited japan. most of the modern parents tend to give their childrens the japanese names which they are sounded like caucasian names äwhile having the meaning in japanese language. such as “Yuna, Sola, lena or Meina or Ken.” and eventhrought those names aren’t pronouce similary to the northern european name? but how western ppl pronouce sounds similar to northern european name for me.

Then again, I look up for the specifit meaning of the name which it verify caucasian. such as, the name “Bianca” or “Sarah” which they are mean ” brighten or white skin, blonde hair”. one day I went to the India shop and the Indian saller called the name of the Indian actress
“Priyanka” to be “Bianca”. and that make me don’t understand why would they wanted to use white ppl name that much? also alot of arab women name “Sala, Zarah etc. awhile many thai ppl tend to give their childrens the short western nickname and very tradition one like “Anne, Boy, Nanne, Beau, Tom, Fray, Fred, George, Cherry, Jasmin.” and all of thos ppl even don’t have caucasian in them.

What does P’ and Khun before a Thai name mean?

I’m watching the Thai drama “Kaew Tah Pee” and I always hear them add “Khun” before the name, even when it’s husband and wife. I know that “Khun” can be translated to “Mr./Mrs.” or something like that… But how can I translante that “Khun” into English when it’s between husband and wife?

Also, I hear them add P’ before the name – the young brother calls his big sister “P’Mit”, and the woman calls her husband “P’Thep”. What does it mean?
