Flirting With Filipinas: Tagalog Phrases

| January 16, 2012

flirting in TagalogDespite the fact that majority of Filipina women can understand and speak English a lot better compare to other Asian women; they would truly appreciate it if you try to flirt with them using their native tongue. It is because it only showed that you have exerted a little effort to learn some of the flirty Tagalog phrases that would make women feel very special. Who knows you might even get Filipina girlfriends or even Filipina wives once you have mastered these phrases.

If you want to flirt with beautiful Filipinas, you can start flirting in Tagalog by learning these simple phrases:

I love you: Mahal kita.

This is the most common way of saying “I Love You.” This phrase can be used with anyone, from your grandfather (Mahal kita, Lolo) to your child (Mahal kita, Anak).

I miss you: Miss kita.

Filipinos have incorporated a lot of English words into their vocabulary, including the verb for missing someone’s presence. If you really miss someone, you can say either one of the following sentences:

Miss na miss kita = I really miss you.

Miss kita talaga = I really miss you.

(The word talaga means “really.”)

Ingat ka = Take care.

This is a very sweet thing to say in Tagalog. It sounds so much better than the English translation. Variations include:

Lagi kang mag-ingat = Always take care.

May gusto ako sa iyo = I have a crush on you (a great line; Filipinas love this type of flirty talk).

Gusto kita = I like you.

Gusto kitang makita = I want to see you.

Gusto kitang tawagan = I want to call you.

Iniisip kita = I’m thinking of you.

Lagi kitang iniisip = I always think of you.

Iniisip kita lagi = I always think of you.

Hihintayin kita = I’ll wait for you.

This expression of patience is very romantic to a Filipina. Whether it’s waiting for her to finish getting ready or waiting for her to say yes to your proposal, it is an endearing phrase. It’s a sign of your thoughtfulness that you’re willing to wait for her however long it takes.

Huwag kang mag-alala. Akong bahala = Don’t worry. I’ll take care of it.

The combination of these two phrases is music to a Filipina’s ears. Don’t stress her out with your own difficulty in finding parking. Don’t insist she pick a wine when it wasn’t her idea to come to such a fancy restaurant. Don’t make her share in your anxiety over how much to tip the server. Whether a small matter or a big one, tell her you’ll take care of it and do! Let her sit back and relax.

Ikaw ang lahat sa akin = You are everything to me.

Pahingi ng kiss = I’d like a kiss.

Ang ganda mo = You’re beautiful.

Ang ganda mo talaga = You’re really so beautiful.

Hindi siya maganda = She’s not pretty.

Ikaw ang pinaka-maganda = You’re the most beautiful.

(Learn those two phrases and put them together, so that you can make your Filipina feel special when there are other cute girls around. You don’t want her getting insecure and jealous, which these girls have a tendency to do…)

Ang bango mo = You smell nice.

Ang ganda ng buhok mo = Your hair is beautiful.

Ang ganda ng suot mo = You’re dressed nice.

Ang ganda ng kutis mo = Your skin is beautiful.

Ang “cute” mo = You’re so cute.

Ang seksi mo = You’re so sexy!

Ang talino mo = You are so smart.

Ang bait mo = You’re so nice.

Ang bait mo sa akin = You’re so nice to me.

Ang ganda ng katawan mo = Your body is beautiful.

Ang ganda ng mga mata mo = Your eyes are beautiful.

Ang galing mong humalik = You kiss so well.
